Winter Trap League

The Carroll County Gun Club hosts an annual Winter Trap League, beginning mid-November and running for 10 weeks (sans the year-end holidays).  This is the club's largest annual event and draws several hundred shooters from Maryland, Pennsylvania, and  surrounding areas.

Registration (sign-up) begins at 8:00 am, and shoots start at 9:00 am.  Registration cut-off is 2:00 pm sharp.

The Practice Trap and Kitchen are open to the public from 8am - 2pm.  Breakfast is served until 11 - 11:30 and lunch from then till 2 pm.

League Format

25 Singles and 25 Handicap

Handicap yardage is determined by a shooters recent Winter League or Heart of MD yardage, ATA yardage, or shooter's known yardage.

Earned Yardage Scale:
 - Highest Score earns 2 yards
 - Second Highest score earns 1 yard
 - Third Highest Score earns 1/2 yard


League Fees (2008 - 2009 season)

  50 Targets $15.00  for Adults & $9 for Juniors
  Lewis $7.00  
  High Gun $3.00  


2008 - 2009 Awards Banquet to be announced, usually a Saturday in May
